Privacy policy

Last updated 26 August 2026.

This policy covers how SG Arboricultural Consulting (ABN 42 600 362 402) handles personal information, in line with the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

What is collected

When you contact me or engage me, I collect what is needed to do the work and to invoice for it: your name, contact details, the site address, and whatever you tell me about the project. Site inspections generate photographs, measurements and notes about the trees and the property.

How it is used

To respond to your enquiry, prepare and deliver your report, invoice you, and answer questions a council or other party raises about that report. It is not used for anything else and it is not sold.

Who it is shared with

Reports are prepared for you and are commonly lodged by you with a council or tribunal, which is their purpose. Beyond that, your information is disclosed only where you ask me to, or where the law requires it.

Site photographs

Photographs taken during an inspection form part of the report and its supporting record. They are not published, used in marketing, or shown to anyone else without your permission. Where images of past work appear on this site, they are either my own or are used with permission, and identifying details are removed.

Storage and retention

Records are held securely and kept for as long as is needed for professional and legal purposes, which for arboricultural reports is typically at least seven years given the timeframes over which tree matters can be revisited.

Access and correction

Ask and I will tell you what I hold about you, and correct anything that is wrong. Email info@sgarboriculture.com.au.

Complaints

Raise it with me first at info@sgarboriculture.com.au. If you are not satisfied with the outcome, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
